Guys, they’re the two most important parts of your body.
You already know which ones I mean. The one down there… and the one upstairs (probably in that order, too).
But new research reveals how fixing a problem “down there” in your prostate could cause you to lose what’s upstairs in your brain!
One of the most common treatments for prostate cancer can slow your brain so much that you can pretty much kiss your memory goodbye.
It’s called androgen deprivation therapy, and it’s essentially castration — with either drugs or surgery — to shut down your flow of manly hormones.
Since some prostate tumors feed off those hormones, choking off that supply will starve them.
But there’s a HUGE problem with that approach: The same hormones you need for action “down there” are also absolutely critical to your operation center upstairs.
Those hormones help keep the neurons firing and your gray matter charged.
As a result, the new study finds ADT will boost your risk of cognitive decline and dementia.
The study didn’t show how close the link is, just that it’s there… but past research by the same team found that cutting off those hormones will DOUBLE your risk of dementia.
That’s not the only side effect.
That may not even be the WORST side effect — because long before this treatment robs you of your mind, it’ll steal your dignity by causing both impotence and incontinence.
Is that really any way to live? Of course it isn’t — but guys put up with it anyway. They do it because they think they’re facing a choice between living with those side effects or dying of the disease.
Well, friend, I’m here to say there’s another way — a THIRD choice, because despite what you’ve heard, most prostate tumors are 100 percent harmless. They grow so slowly that they will almost never pose a threat in a normal human lifetime.
They don’t need to be treated. Heck, they don’t even need to be SCREENED, which is why even mainstream health organizations are now all coming out against the PSA test.
If you’re screened anyway, or another test reveals a prostate tumor, talk to your doc about the “watch and wait” approach.
That’s when you do nothing. No drugs. No radiation. No surgery. And absolutely NO castration in any form.
Every now and then, your doc will check up on that tumor to make sure it’s still small. In the rare chance it starts to grow, THEN you can consider treatments, and even then ADT isn’t your only choice.
