How cholesterol PROTECTS your brain

Time to break out the sledgehammer – because I’m about to bust open one of the biggest myths of modern health.

I’m sure you’ve heard this one over and over and over again.

You’ve seen the talking heads on TV yammer on and on about it… read about it in the newspaper… and probably heard your own doc deliver some scary speech.

They’ve ALL claimed that cholesterol will practically rot your brain until it leaks out your ears.

Supposedly, mainstream logic goes, this stuff will increase your risk of cognitive decline, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease – and if you don’t cut back on the foods you love AND take a statin drug to cut the levels you have, you’re doomed.

Well, my friend, it’s time to put all those delicious foods back on the menu and toss the statins in the trash where they belong.

A major new study out of Finland PROVES that cholesterol won’t harm a single brain cell.

Heck, some forms will even PROTECT your gray matter and PREVENT cognitive problems as you get older!

This new study tracked guys between the ages of 42 and 60 for more than two decades and found absolutely no link between cholesterol in the diet and problems in the brain.

It didn’t matter how much of it they ate. They didn’t have a higher risk of memory disorders, didn’t have a higher risk of dementia and didn’t have a higher risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

That’s right. NO RISK at all!

So much for those scary speeches doctors have been delivering about cholesterol.

In fact, eating at least one source of cholesterol can do just the opposite. It can give you a BETTER and SHARPER mind!

Men in the new study who ate at least an egg a day aced nearly every key cognitive test, including ones measuring verbal fluency and executive function.

Sounds to me like the perfect excuse to have two of ’em “over easy” for breakfast tomorrow.

Some guys have a higher risk of Alzheimer’s with or without cholesterol. They carry that APOE4 gene I warned you of earlier this week, which can boost the odds of Alzheimer’s by as much as 12 times.

This same gene is known to mess with your body’s cholesterol levels, causing levels to jump after eating cholesterol-rich foods such as eggs.

Docs have told these patients they need to be EXTRA worried about cholesterol.

But the new study shows that’s bunk, too!

Even in folks with this gene, cholesterol didn’t raise the Alzheimer’s risk a lick.

So, tune out the TV talking heads and ignore the “fake news” about cholesterol. Despite what you’ve heard, the real risk factor for dementia, heart disease and more isn’t cholesterol anyway.

It’s INFLAMMATION, and I’ll have more on how to fight that later today.

You’re going to love this one. In fact, it’ll go perfectly with your eggs.
