Don’t poison your face to beat headaches

Whatever happened to aging gracefully?

Turn on the TV or crack open a magazine, and you’ll see once-beautiful starlets looking more like House of Wax versions of themselves.

They’re all rigid, shiny and stiff with a phony smile frozen in place…and it’s not because of age. It’s because of what they think will fight the signs of age: Botox, a powerful neurotoxin that literally paralyzes muscles so they pull tight and don’t form wrinkles.

And now, according to new guidelines from the American Academy of Neurology, you don’t have to be an aging starlet to get injected with a face full of Botox yourself. They claim that docs should start pumping this poison into the faces of millions of Americans of all ages who battle chronic migraines.

The organization says studies prove the toxin is both safe and effective for chronic migraine, or folks who have headaches for 15 days or more per month.

But don’t schedule those injections for your own face just yet — because the Academy has a different definition of “safe” and “effective” than you and I do.

In fact, this poison — the same toxin that causes the life-threatening type of food poisoning known as botulism — barely works at all!

One study that you read about right here in the Daily Dose back in 2012 found that chronic migraine sufferers who get shot up with poison have about two fewer headache-free days per month.

Yes, you’ll go from 15 down to 13.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I know folks with migraines who’d sell their souls for even five MINUTES of relief from the brain-pounding, skull-shaking, eye-piercing pain of chronic migraines.

But in exchange for those two days of relief, you have to get 30 injections of a powerful poison into your face… and you have to repeat this process every few months to keep getting this measly benefit.

That doesn’t sound like relief.

When you see the potential risks, it sounds like a nightmare: flu-like symptoms…and even paralysis, especially if your doc misses the injection spot and hits the wrong muscle.

Fortunately, there are much better ways to get migraine relief without so much as a single drop of poison.

One incredibly effective solution for migraines that works like magic for most people — and you won’t believe how simple it is.

All you need to do is get a pair of glasses with specially tinted lenses.

These aren’t just regular sunglasses. They’re tinted with a special shade called FL-41 that’s somewhere between a red and a purple.

Yes, they may give you psychedelic flashbacks to the Summer of Love — but it’s worth it, because these lenses can slash migraine pain by a stunning 70 percent, without needles or poison!

You can get these lenses — including corrective versions, if you have vision problems — from an optician or online for about a hundred bucks or so.
