Cut your stroke risk in two easy steps

While there are factors that could raise your risk, the reality is that a stroke can happen to anyone… anytime… anywhere.

Whether you’re fit as a fiddle or sicker than a dog, you could suffer a stroke out of the blue.

But there are two SUPER EASY ways to cut your risk!

Good sleep isn’t just how much you sleep. It’s how well you sleep — and if you’re waking up all the time, you’re not sleeping very well.

New research shows that if you’re up and down like a yo-yo, the arteries in your brain start to harden, increasing your risk of a stroke by 27 percent. For every two extra times per hour you wake up, the risk jumps by another 30 percent.

If you’re lucky, it’s a ride to the hospital in the back of an ambulance and the scare of a lifetime. If you’re not, you could suffer permanent damage to your speech… your movement… and your mind.

And if Lady Luck has really left you in the dust, you could be one of the 140,000 Americans killed by a stroke each year, making it the number three cause of death, after heart disease and cancer.

If you’re waking up too often, taking time-released melatonin supplements at bedtime will usually do the trick.

And once you wake up after a solid night of shuteye, break out the bacon — because a second study finds that your stroke risk increases if you skip breakfast.

If you miss your morning meal, your overall risk of stroke jumps by 18 percent, while your risk of one of the deadliest forms of stroke — a cerebral hemorrhage — shoots up by 36 percent.

Missing breakfast can even increase your risk of heart disease by 14 percent.

Mom always called it the most important meal of the day. And she was always the one to send you to bed early, wasn’t she?

Looks like mom was right… yet again.
