THE CRIPPLING POWER OF SODA

They don’t make things like they used to——and it’s not just clunker cars and shoddy furniture that are falling apart. Our knees are wearing out so fast you’d think they were manufactured in a Chinese sweatshop.

But don’t blame the assembly line for these faulty parts. They were made right——but we’re using them wrong, forcing our knees to carry around too many pounds for too many years.

It’s an abuse they just can’t handle, which is why crippling knee conditions are on the rise like never before, including the osteoarthritis (OA) that’s now expected to strike half of all Americans at some point in their lives.

Not exactly something to look forward to, is it?

But there’s more than just pain on the line here. Your knees are the keys to your mobility and independence, which is why it’s essential that you take action to limit the damage at the first sign of pain.

And one of the fastest and simplest actions you can take right now, whether you have the symptoms of OA or not, is to quit the one bad habit that might’ve helped rot your knees in the first place.

Quit soda!

Ever see what happens when you spill soda on a car? Used to eat the paint right off. It doesn’t happen so much today, but it’s not because the chemicals in soda are any less corrosive.

It’s because car paints are stronger.

Well, your knees haven’t kept up with the times the way paints have. To your knees, soda is as damaging as ever——and it gnaws through your cartilage the way it used to eat through your car’s paint job.

In one new study, men who drank as little as five soft drinks a week had DOUBLE the loss of joint space in their knees over four years than men who drank little to no liquid junk.

That extra space in the knees isn’t a little more room to move around. It’s the space where your cartilage used to be. More space means less cartilage——and less cartilage means more pain.

It’s like being kneecapped by a beverage!

Now, I know some people will assume soda drinkers are more likely to be fat, and fat people already have worse OA symptoms to begin with (not to mention a higher risk of getting the disease).

But that’s not what’s going on here.

In fact, the study of more than 2,000 OA patients finds the link is strongest in THIN men with a steady soft drink habit. And in women, the only link between soda and worsening osteoarthritis is in the slim and trim types who drink the most liquid sugar.

The more you drink, the worse it’s bound to be——but since the damage was seen in just five drinks a week, that means there’s just no such thing as a healthy moderate soft drink habit.

It’s all bad, in any amount, and that goes for any and all sugar-sweetened drinks.

For more on defeating osteoarthritis and the pain that comes along with it, go into your Douglass Report folder and take another look at the September 2012?issue, which has my seven keys to beating the condition without drugs or surgery.

And if you don’t save your back issues, or if you’re a new subscriber, don’t worry——I’ve got you covered. Use the username and password on page eight to get complete online access to every issue of the newsletter, going all the way back to the very first one.

You shouldn’t need another reason to skip soda. But I’ve got one anyway in the next article——as well as three better drink choices.
