Swim away from Alzheimer’s with the
deep-sea secret that can prevent dementia

Somewhere, at this very moment, a senior is hearing the three words no one ever wants to hear:

You’ve got dementia.

Believe it or not, that’s not even the worst part of the news. That comes next, when the doctor stares down over the top of his glasses and says matter-of-factly that there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it because there isn’t a drug in the world that can stop the disease or even slow it down.

And that half-truth is even worse than a lie.

Truth is, there is no drug in the world that can stop or slow dementia and Alzheimer’s disease–but there are safe and natural solutions that can do what those drugs can’t.

They’re not expensive, exotic, or dangerous. In fact, you can find them in any vitamin shop right now–and if you take them early enough, they can help make sure you never even get dementia in the first place.

But even if you wait… even if you’re in the early stages of cognitive decline right now… even if you’ve already heard the dreaded “D” word from your doctor…

IT’S STILL NOT TOO LATE!

These same great brain-boosting nutrients aren’t just good at keeping dementia at bay. They’re also nature’s best CURES for the disease, able to do what those drugs can’t, slowing, stopping, or even reversing Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Start with the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil, which can cross the blood-brain barrier and get to work fighting both the conditions that cause dementia and the actual damage of the disease itself.

In one new study, researchers found patients with cognitive impairment have higher levels of lipid hydroperoxide, a marker of oxidative stress in the brain. The higher the LPO levels, the worse the overall cognitive function–including global cognitive function, attention spans, and short-term memory.

They even had more problems with learning–both immediate learning, and delayed learning.

This is where fish oil comes in, because patients with the highest omega-3 intake had the lowest LPO levels–and, not coincidentally, better overall cognitive function including longer attention spans, improved short-term memory, and better recall capabilities.

It’s as if the omega-3s were holding back the worst of the cognitive impairment–stalling the condition and perhaps even preventing it from turning into decline and dementia.

The study didn’t follow the patients for the long-term, but other studies have–and the news from those is even more encouraging. One recent UCLA study found high intake of omega-3 fatty acids can cut your risk of dementia by up to 50 percent.

This isn’t just some benefit on paper. It’s something you can FEEL–and not just in the form of memory protection and dementia prevention. Omega-3 fatty acids are also essential to mood and can even be used to fight depression.

But let’s stick to dementia and Alzheimer’s today, because I want to show you just how full of it your doctor is when he says there is absolutely nothing you can do–because fish oil isn’t the only safe and natural way to beat this disease.

You’ve got options, starting with my…

TOP THREE BRAIN BOOSTERS

All three of these brain boosters are easy to find, inexpensive, completely safe, and–most importantly–backed by science.

BRAIN BOOSTER #1: B VITAMINS

Just last year, I told you about the science behind vitamins B6, B12, and folate–science that’s been largely ignored by the mainstream, probably because B vitamins can’t be patented and sold as a pricey drug.

Now, another cutting-edge new study backs everything I’ve told you and then some, showing how a potent blend of these three essential Bs can actually stop the physical damage in the brain caused by dementia.

That’s the dreaded “brain shrink” that marks the disease–and while we all lose a little gray matter over the years, one of the sure signs of dementia and Alzheimer’s is a brain that shrinks up to 10 times faster than normal.

The new study tracked that “shrinkage” in 156 seniors with mild memory loss and high levels of homocysteine (an inflammation marker linked to dementia and other diseases) who were given either a placebo or those three B vitamins.

You could almost see the gray matter oozing out of patients on the placebo–they lost 5.2 percent of brain volume per year, or right on pace for
a date with dementia.

The ones who got the B vitamins, on the other hand, saw their brain shrink come grinding almost to a halt. They lost 0.6 percent of their volume per year–or just a hair above the 0.5 percent we see with normal aging.

I’ve seen the blend used in the study referred to as “high dose” and even
a “mega” dose, but these are amounts you can find in a good B complex available right now at any vitamin shop.

Look for one with 0.5 milligrams of vitamin B12, 20 milligrams of vitamin B6, and 0.8 milligrams of folic acid.

BRAIN BOOSTER #2: CURCUMIN

It’s a well-known fact that India has a much lower dementia rate than the United States. Indians in their 70s are 440 percent LESS likely to have dementia than Americans the same age.

A lesser-known fact is that if you autopsy an Indian senior, instead of the plaques, tangles, and atrophy that mark dementia, you will often find a brain that has been discolored with a slight-but-distinct yellowish tinge.

These two facts are directly related.

The yellowish tinge is caused by curcumin, a pigment found in turmeric, a spice that Indians use in just about everything (but especially curry). But curcumin is more than just a brain-staining pigment. It’s also both a powerful anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant–and as that discoloration shows, it has the power to cross the blood-brain barrier.

Once inside, it’s like an all-around dementia buster. It can reduce your risk of ever getting the disease and–more importantly–it could slow, stop, and even reverse the damage if you do happen to get it.

One review of the research finds curcumin can fight dementia and Alzheimer’s through no less than SIX DIFFERENT MECHANISMS.

If you want this protection (and why wouldn’t you?), make like an Indian and eat plenty of delicious curry. However, to really make sure you get what you need, take a supplement.

BRAIN BOOSTER #3: GREEN TEA

Two key physical markers of Alzheimer’s disease are the brain plaques and tangles created (at least in part) by the accumulation of metals in the brain, usually copper and zinc.

Mainstream medicine doesn’t have an answer to those plaques and tangles–but your local supermarket does. New research shows that a compound found in ordinary green tea attacks the metal accumulation and fights those plaques and tangles.

If you don’t like green tea, you can also get this compound in supplement form. It’s called epigallocatechin-3-gallate, thankfully abbreviated to EGCG.

By the way, another excellent way to rid yourself of the metals behind those plaques and tangles is chelation therapy. Your own doctor will scream until he is blue that chelation is dangerous and ineffective.

This is yet another lie.

Chelation is perfectly safe, health-wise. However, there are at least two other risks you should know about.

The first is boredom, as the sessions can last up to three hours and you may need between 20 and 30 of them. Bring a book.

The other risk is to your wallet, as most insurers won’t cover chelation.

Since chelation can also protect the heart as well as the brain, I’d call it money well spent. Just be sure you get the real deal–not “chelation pills,” “fast chelation,” or any other gimmick.

To find an experienced naturopathic physician near you who knows the ins and outs of chelation, contact the American College for Advancement in Medicine online at ACAM.org or by phone at 1-800-532-3688.
